This song is about Stubble burning which consists in clearing fields by deliberately setting them on fire.
This tradition we call "la halha" in Gascon language is still relevant nowadays and could be the origin of the name Pyrénées ( Mountains of Fire).

The legend says that Pyrène and the god Heracles were lovers. When she died she was buried and he named the mountains in her honor.

The song starts with mongolian throatsinging techniques and blends in gasconian traditionnal instruments such as the flabuta (tabor pipes), tomtom (string drums) and accordion.

(The flame on the picture is the very one we used to forge my Torc. :D )
